Collection: Mirrors

Choose a mirror for the view you need and the space it will occupy. A dressing mirror, a decorative piece above a console and a mirror over a fireplace each need a different combination of size, shape and placement.

Compare shapes and frame finishes

Browse round and oval mirrors for a curved outline, overmantle mirrors for the space above a fireplace, or leaner mirrors for a larger floor-level arrangement. Check the intended installation method for each design, even when a product appears in a particular style collection.

Measure the frame and check the reflection

Mark the full frame outline on the wall with a paper template. Include nearby lights, shelves and door openings in your plan, and check the likely reflection from the doorway and main seat. The overall frame dimensions can differ from the usable mirrored area; a decorative frame or divided panel design may leave a smaller uninterrupted view.

For examples of wood frames, antique-style detailing and different proportions, see our mirror scale and placement guide for cottage interiors.

Confirm how the mirror should be fitted

Check the product's weight, permitted hanging orientation and supplied fixings. Follow the manufacturer's installation instructions and confirm that the wall and fixings are suitable. A wall-mounted mirror should not be assumed suitable for leaning, and a floor-standing design may still require securing.
