Coordinating Ceiling and Wall Lights: Two Matching Ranges
Choosing ceiling and wall lights from a coordinating family can make a room feel considered without making every fitting identical. Start with the lighting jobs: the ceiling fitting, light around the edges of the room and any focused task light. Then check that the finish, scale and installation details work together.
Two coordinating families to compare
| Family | Ceiling fitting | Wall fitting | Shared design details |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cleckheaton | Cleckheaton Pendant Light — 68cm wide and deep; fitting height 60cm, with a listed overall height range of 60–191.5cm. | Cleckheaton Wall Light — 18cm wide, 10cm projection and 33.5cm high. | Hammered aged-bronze-effect metal and natural-linen-effect fabric. |
| Cox | Cox 2 Pendant Light — 78cm wide and 22cm deep; listed overall height 120cm. | Cox Wall Light — 23cm wide, 12cm projection and 26cm high. | Woven natural seagrass with matt-black fittings. |

Fit the ceiling light to the furniture below it
Mark the dining table, seating area or console position before deciding where the fitting should hang. Compare the pendant’s width with the furniture and check the total drop against ceiling height and use of the space. Cleckheaton’s adjustable overall-height range is useful information; Cox’s listed height alone does not establish its minimum achievable drop, so confirm that with the product team or installer.
Check how far the wall fitting projects
A wall light can look small from the front yet project into a walking route. In these examples, Cleckheaton projects 10cm and Cox 12cm. Check their position beside doors, curtains, mirrors and headboards, and compare the light source with where people will sit or stand.
Coordinate the light, not only the colour
A matching family helps with materials and styling, but the lamps and controls still need checking. The Cleckheaton listings describe dimmable fittings and compatible LED lamps; confirm the selected bulbs and dimmer combination with your installer. For Cox, check the individual fitting specification before assuming the same controls or performance.
These examples are for indoor schemes. Have your installer confirm the suitability, wiring position, fixings and control requirements for the intended location. For bathrooms or other specialised settings, establish the required product rating before selecting by appearance.
Keep the room balanced
Wall fittings can support a pendant without copying its size. Choose the family that relates to your furniture and textures: Cleckheaton gives a fabric-and-metal combination, while Cox introduces woven seagrass. Check the current photographs and finish description for each item in the pair.
