Collection: Wall Art

Choose wall art around the space you want to fill, the colours already in your room and how you will view the piece. A single artwork and a group of smaller pieces need different amounts of wall space. Compare framed prints, canvases and decorative wall pieces by their full dimensions, finish and hanging requirements.

Plan the size and position

Measure the available wall area, allowing for light switches, wall lights, shelving and doors. Check whether the listed dimensions include the frame, rather than assuming they describe only the image. Mark the outside edges with paper templates to judge the scale from your sofa, doorway or bed before deciding on a size.

Above furniture, consider the relationship between the artwork and the piece beneath it. Keep enough separation for both to feel distinct, and check the position from the places where you spend time. There is no single proportion that suits every room or arrangement.

Our framed wall art measuring guide works through outer frame dimensions, paper templates and spacing for sets.

Compare single pieces and sets

For a pair or a larger set, check the dimensions of each panel, the number supplied and the space you intend to leave between them. Add those gaps to the combined artwork width when planning the arrangement. Confirm whether each piece can hang in the orientation you want; a portrait image or fitted hanging points may limit your options.

Check the finish and hanging details

Read the individual product description for the frame, surface and any glazing. Photographs can help you compare colours and texture, but check close-up images and written specifications before choosing a finish to match existing furniture.

Before installation, confirm the artwork's weight, the hanging hardware supplied and the manufacturer's instructions. Wall fixings must suit both the piece and your wall construction. Check any placement and care guidance before hanging artwork in direct sunlight, near heat or in a damp room.
